The 3rd "Belt & Road" Malaysia-China TCM Summit Forum

The 3rd "Belt and Road" Malaysia-China TCM Summit Forum has concluded successfully in Kuala Lumpur, marking a new international milestone in cross-border collaboration between the traditional medicine communities of Malaysia and China.

Rooted in the Belt and Road "Health Silk Road" framework, the forum opens international channels between the Malaysian and Chinese TCM communities — sharing medical resources, deepening academic exchange, and connecting technologies across borders. This third edition was jointly hosted by MCPTPA, the Federation of Chinese Physicians and Acupuncturists Associations Malaysia (FCPAAM), and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, with Shandong Liming Vocational College of Science and Technology (formerly Shandong University of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) as exclusive title sponsor. Convened under President Li Dazhi, the forum has been formally established as a standing, professional platform for Malaysia-China TCM exchange and cooperation.

International guests spoke highly of the forum's cross-border industry value and strategic significance, affirming its central role in advancing academic exchange, technological empowerment, talent development, and industry linkage between the two countries — and laying a solid foundation for deeper Malaysia-China cooperation across the health sector. Guests also commended title sponsor Shandong Liming Vocational College of Science and Technology for its deep commitment to TCM education and its outstanding role in carrying Traditional Chinese Medicine onto the global stage.

Our Background and Mission

1. Founding Background

The history of friendly exchanges between China and Malaysia is long and profound. As early as the 18th century, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was introduced to Malaysia with Chinese immigrants. After centuries of inheritance and development, TCM has been deeply integrated into the local healthcare system, becoming an indispensable part of its diverse medical landscape.

In recent years, with the deepening of the "Belt and Road" initiative, cooperation between China and Malaysia in various fields has continued to strengthen. The signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding on TCM Cooperation" in 2023 injected new vitality into the exchange and collaboration in the field of TCM. Against this backdrop, the MCPTPA was established to promote the standardization, modernization, and internationalization of TCM in Malaysia.
